Tourist rights protection in Uzbekistan
Can you really have rest if there is a threat to your safety and your rights? The answer is obvious. These are two of the main criteria when choosing a country to travel.
A new “Concept of tourism development in the cities of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva and Shahrisabz” was recently introduced in Uzbekistan. It covers the main aspects of tourism the state has to pay special attention to.
This includes tourist rights protection in the following areas:
- in places of accommodation and other services for tourists
- in sightseeing places and during different tourist activities
- when using all types of transport
Uzbekistan is seriously engaged in improving its tourist environment, creating the most favorable conditions for leisure travelers, increasing its competitiveness in the global market. And this does not go unnoticed: the republic ranks second in the ranking of the safest countries in the world and first among the countries of Central Asia.
With the increase in the number of tourists, the need for additional law enforcement officers has increased. For that, the so-called "tourist police" was created in Samarkand, Bukhara and Khorezm. Its employees are equipped with modern technical and transport equipment, tablets with electronic translator, as well as detailed city maps. Some of them moved patrol popular tourist sites on modern comfortable segways.
In the short term, the goal is set to increase the number of CCTV cameras and special panic buttons for emergency situations. Within the framework of the “Safe Tourism” concept, advanced training courses are already held for hotel workers and other tourist infrastructure personnel. Since the creation of the tourist police, dozens of applicants have been assisted with various requests: to find a cell phone, personal belongings, and even a passport.
If you have a similar situation, contact the round-the-clock call-center for tourists by the number (+998) 71 200 00 88 or find an officer in uniform, since they carry out their service in all tourist areas - in recreation parks, on the territory of sights and monuments, in city squares and near places of entertainment.
Such innovations undoubtedly create a wonderful image for Uzbekistan, making it even more attractive for millions of tourists.
