What you can and cannot bring to Uzbekistan

When you arrive to Uzbekistan, it’s obviously allowed to bring goods for personal use, in a certain amount. In addition, a citizen of any country has the right to bring other goods with the total cost of:

  • no more than 2000 USD, when arriving through international airports of Uzbekistan;
  • no more than 1000 USD, when arriving through railway and river check points;
  • no more than 300 USD, when crossing road (pedestrian) borders.

Anything that exceeds the corresponding amount is subject to customs payments. You can bring such goods no more than once a month.

Customs fees incurred for excess of the allowable amount include the following charges:

  • excise tax
  • 20% collection from individuals
  • VAT
  • customs duties.

All these goods must be indicated in the T-6 customs declaration form.

Below is a table with the maximum permitted quantity of the most frequently imported goods to Uzbekistan, for importation without paying customs fee:

It’s not allowed to bring the following goods to Uzbekistan:

  • narcotic and psychotropic substances (only with the permission of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan)
  • ozone-containing substances, animals and plants that are rare and endangered, and also listed in the Red Book (only with the permission of the State Committee for Nature Protection of Uzbekistan)
  • ethyl alcohol
  • any media (books, video and audio recordings, manuscripts, photographs, etc.) that promote terrorism, violence, racism, and that could harm the state of Uzbekistan.

As for drugs, there is a list of permitted drugs in certain quantities. This amount should not exceed 30 tablets or 10 ampoules in one pack.
