Aral Sea Tour 2 (Economy)

Departure from Nukus at 8 o’clock in the morning.

Continue our way to discover the Usturt Plateau and Aral sea life. On the way we pass Khojeli and Kungrad districts, which were the Trading centers during the Silk Road period. On the way we pass near the Soda Plant and Uzbekistan-Korea Gas Chemical Plant.

Arrive at Barsakelmes, the huge Natural Saltpit, where the Soda Plant takes its main resource. After we go to the Sudochie lake.

Upon arrival at the lake we stop at the ancient Light House hill. Then you can visit the abandoned settlement of the Russian and Polish people who were repressed during the Stalin regimen. You can see the ruins of the hospital, cane houses and old Fish Factory. As well you can talk with fishermen, who currently do the fishing and observe the different kinds of birds.

Drive to Aral sea yurt camp.

Arrive at the yurt camp, dinner and overnight stay.

Early wakeup to take pictures of sunrise over the sea.

Have a breakfast.

After breakfast we drive towards the Keinchiyak Mis, where the previous Soviet Military Base Camp was located.

On the way we stop at Nomads cemetery, take wonderful pictures of Great Canyons, visit old Military Base.

Take a swim. Best place for swimming.

Come back to the yurt camp.

Take a rest.

Later you can visit Kurgancha kala, from XIII c. An old caravan sarai, hidden among the hills of the Usturt Plateau.

Dinner.

Staying overnight at the yurt camp.

After breakfast our way continue to the settlement  of "Komsomolsk" on the Usturt Plateau. There you can see the abandoned airport of the Gas Compression Station. It was used as an emergency landing place for the plane. There you can take pictures of camels and horses, as well as to taste camel milk in the village.

Drive via the bottom of the dried Aral sea.

Arrive in Moynak town. Visit the cemetery of Ships, local museum and watch the short documentary film about Moynak life in the past.

Lunch at the Guest house.

Drive back to Nukus. On the way stop at "Mizdakhan" the architectural complex of the XIV c,  Halifa Erejep mausoleum (XII c), Nazlumhan suluw (XII-XIV cc), Shamun Nabi (XIX c), Gaur kala fortress (VI B.C.-IX A.D.).

Arrive in Nukus around 6 o'clock in the evening.
