Description

A two-day tour in the legendary city of Samarkand. During the excursion you will visit all the most famous monuments due to which the ancient city of Samarkand is included in the list of objects representing the heritage of mankind according to UNESCO. The tour also includes a trip to the village of Konigil, where you will witness the traditional way of making Samarkand paper from the mulberry tree and visiting mausoleum of Imam Al-Bukhari, author of the sacred book of the Hadiths.

Program
  • Day 1:

    8:00 Breakfast.

    9:00 Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. The tour begins with a visit to Ulugbek's Observatory, where part of the XV century sextant is preserved. Continue to Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis and remains of Bibi-Khanum Mosque.

    14:00 Lunch.

    Walking on the alley with souvenir shops you will reach the spectacular Registan Square which has been the center of Samarkand for many centuries. During sightseeing you will have a chance to visit colorful Siab bazaar with stalls full of oriental sweets, local fruits and variety of freshly baked traditional breads. The last point of interest to be visited is Gur-Emir Mausoleum – authentic shrine of Tamerlane.

  • Day 2:

    8:00 Breakfast.

    9:00 Continue sightseeing: visit Afrasiab Museum and the Tomb of Saint Daniel. Then drive to Konigil village to explore traditional way of making Samarkand paper from mulberry. Then drive to mausoleum of Muslim scholar Imam Al-Bukhari, the author of second holy book Hadis after Qoran in Islam (25 km, 30 min).

    14:00 Lunch.

    Being a pilgrimage place for Muslims, Al-Bukhari complex is also famous for its modern mosque built in 1998.
