Bukhara is the city of the Great Silk Road, where trade routes from East to West converged, caravans with valuable goods - silk and spices dragged on. Local craftsmen of gold embroidery, pottery, masters of minting, carpet weaving and other crafts were very famous.

From May 30 to May 31, 2020, the annual Silk and Spices festival will be held in Bukhara.

Silk during the Great Silk Road was among the goods that are more tender and lighter than air and valued more than gold itself. Skilled weavers of Bukhara, Samarkand, Balkh, Hamadan, Damascus, Baghdad made raw silk of unique beauty in their beauty.

Festival visitors literally become participants, involved in improvised colorful shopping bazaars of silk fabrics and spices, called exhibition fairs. Merge with folklore show programs and enjoy the unique dishes of Uzbek cuisine.
