An interesting 12-day tour for lovers of excursions and ancient architecture. It provides a journey in the most ancient cities of Uzbekistan: Tashkent, Samarkand, Khiva, Bukhara and Nurata.

On the way from Khiva to Bukhara, you will enjoy the colorful landscapes of the Kyzylkum desert and the Amu Darya river, and in Bukhara you will visit the palace of Bukhara Khan, ancient mausoleums and madrasahs. The journey from Bukhara will continue to the ancient city of Nurata, the origin of which is associated with Alexander the Great. Here you will enjoy active pastime: hike to the lake Aydarkul, settlement in the yurt camp, camel riding, evening fire with national songs and overnight in the real nomadic yurt.

Program
  • Day 1: Tashkent

    Arrival in Tashkent. You will be met by our driver with the sign "Happy Travel" and transferred to the hotel.

    Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 2: Tashkent

    Meet your guide to start sightseeing in the capital of Uzbekistan, the biggest city in Central Asia.

    Visit Old City part of Tashkent with Khast-Imam Complex where the world famous Quran of Caliph Uthman has been preserved.

    In Khast-Imam visit Madrasah of Barak-Khan,

    Tillya-Sheykh Mosque, Mausoleum of the Saint Abu Bakr Kaffal Shashi

    and the Islamic Institute of Imam al-Bukhari. Explore Chorsu Bazaar.

    Then take a ride on Tashkent Metro to city center with

    Amir Timur Square,

    Independence Square

    and Applied Arts Museum.

    Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 3: Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva

    Early morning transfer to local airport for flight to Urgench (1093 km, 1 h. 40 min.).

    Arrive in Urgench, transfer to the hotel in Khiva (30 km, 35 min.).

    Later proceed for guided walking sightseeing tour. Spend a day in UNESCO World Heritage site Itchan-Kala Fortress.

    Visit Mukhammad Aminkhan Madrasah,

    Mukhammad Rahimkhan Madrasah,

    Kalta-Minor,

    Kunya-Ark,

    Juma Mosque,

    Tash-Khovli Palace,

    Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum,

    Minaret of Islam Hoja.

    Free time in the afternoon.

  • Day 4: Khiva - Bukhara

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    In the morning depart Khiva and drive to Bukhara (480 km, 7-8 h.*). The Great Silk Road once routed through Bukhara and Khiva ran through the Kyzylkum Desert, as the present road does nowadays**.

    Stop en-route to enjoy views of Amu Darya River and the desert.

    Arrive in Bukhara late in the afternoon, check in to the hotel.

    Time for rest and overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 5: Bukhara

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Enjoy a walking sightseeing tour with a guide in Old City. Visit Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble,

    Magoki-Attori Mosque,

    Chor-Minor Madrasah,

    trade domes,

    Kalyan Minaret and Mosque

    and Miri-Arab Madrasah,

    Ulugbek madrasah,

    Abdulazizkhan madrasah,

    Ark Fortress,

    Bolo-Khauz Mosque,

    Samanid mausoleum

    and Chashma-Ayub mausoleum.

  • Day 6: Bukhara

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Start the second day with a visit to Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, unique site combining Oriental and Russian architecture.

    Continue to Bakhouddin Nakshbandi Mausoleum

    and Chor-Bakr Necropolis.

    Enjoy free time in the afternoon.

    Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 7: Bukhara - Nurata - Safari Yurt Camp

    Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning depart Bukhara and drive to yurt camp located in Kyzylkum desert (230 km, 4 h.*). On the way stop in Nurata town to visit a local mosque with a holy spring water.

    In the afternoon continue driving to yurt camp in Kyzylkum desert. Arrive in Safari Yurt Camp, accommodation in yurt.

    Camel riding and free time. In the evening dinner near the camp fire with Kazakh akin singing folk songs.

    Overnight in the yurt.

  • Day 8: Safari Yurt Camp - Samarkand

    Breakfast.

    In the morning visit desert Aydarkul Lake.

    Free time on the lake.

    In the afternoon depart the yurt camp and drive to Samarkand (270 km, 5 h.).

    Arrival in Samarkand, check in to the hotel.

    Time for rest.

    Overnight at the hotel.

    Meals: breakfast, lunch or picnic.

  • Day 9: Samarkand

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Meet your guide and driver at hotel lobby to start city tour.

    Visit spectacular Registan Square,

    remains of Bibi-Khanum Mosque,

    Siab Bazaar,

    Ulugbek's Observatory,

    Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis

    and Gur-Emir Mausoleum – authentic shrine of Tamerlane.

    Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 10: Samarkand - Tashkent

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Check-out from the hotel till noon.

    Continue sightseeing: visit Afrasiab Museum

    and Tomb of Saint Daniel.

    Then drive to Konigil village to explore traditional way of making Samarkand paper from mulberry.

    Enjoy free time with car and driver at your disposal after sightseeing tour.

    At 16:00 transfer to railway station to take the fast-speed Afrosiyob train departing to Tashkent at 17:00 (300 km).

    Scheduled arrival time is 19:10.

    Pick-up and transfer to hotel in Tashkent.

    Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 11: Tashkent

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Check-out from the hotel at noon.

    Free time until transfer to Tashkent International Airport.
