Stadium “Bunyodkor” - home arena of “bunyodkorers”
“Bunyodkorers” is the name of the players of the famous football team “Bunyodkor”, founded in 2005. Football players of one of the strongest teams of Uzbekistan train and play home matches at this stadium. The opening of the stadium took place in 2012 and was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of “Uzbek football”. The stadium is very large, with an area of 105 to 68 meters and accommodates 34,000 people. The two-storied stadium is located in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent. It’s equipped with a modern field, two large monitors, advanced lighting and an audio system, which makes it one of the leading arenas.
“Bunyodkor” Stadium has been visited by such well-known world figures as former FIFA President Joseph Blatter and also former UEFA President Michel Platini. In addition, at this stadium trainings of the football team "Bunyodkor" were held by such legendary coaches as:
- Arthur Antunes Coimbra Zico (former coach of the CSKA Moscow, who won the Uzbekistan Cup in 2008);
- Luis Felipe Scolari (coach of the national teams of Brazil and Portugal, who led the team to victory in the championship of Uzbekistan in 2009);
- Mirjalol Kushakovich Kasymov (famous Uzbek and Soviet footballer).
On the territory of the complex “Bunyodkor” there is a children's and youth football school, a swimming pool, a fitness club, a restaurant and a cafe, as well as the museum of the History of Football of Uzbekistan. It presents numerous cups and trophies received for the entire 13-year history of the football team, as well as photos of players and important sporting events.
High quality and convenience of the stadium are noted by almost all the tourists and guests of the city who visited at least one football match, because it is equipped with the modern facilities. This allows each inveterate fan to completely immerse himself in his favorite sport. And every evening the stadium is lit by the multi-colored lighting system "Flame of the East", which adds to the beauty of such an impressive sports facility. On its changing color background, people take photos, because the stadium is one of the grandiose buildings of the city. That is why there are always a lot of tourists and local residents who want to capture an interesting game of light.
